Greeting All, I hate to do this, but, I have an important political issue to mass email about. New royalty rates are threatening to put an end to way I and other internet broadcasters like myself enjoy their hobby. Please call your senator or congressman and urge them to support the Internet Radio Equality Act. so that we as internet broadcasters, and internet radio listeners can continue to enjoy our hobby and exercise our first amendment right to free speech unabated. In most of my broadcasts I am capable of ceasing to use copyrighted material. However, being able to afford to use copyrighted martial as bumper music is a very important option to have, especially when it comes to shows that are in a talk radio formate as is the case with Let's Talk Trains. I have also begun to venture into FM style internet broadcasting which is impossible without the ability to afford to play copyrighted works. As an aspiring recoding artist myself, I understand the work that goes into recording music and think that artists and studio production team members should get properly compensated for the work that they do. However, I do not think that internet radio should be paying third party organizations like the RIAA more in royalties then broadcast radio! Most of internet broadcasting is done by people like me who simply do it as a hobby that they enjoy for little or no pay. I think we have a right to do this. And, I don't think the record companies off all people should be trying to silence us and infringe upon our rights. Thanks for the help, Please visit http://www.savenetradio.org/index.html for more info.
